Grid 101: Transmission and Nebraska's Energy Future

The development of renewable energy in Nebraska will be controlled by the transmission system’s capacity to carry the power to the market.  Transmission interconnections are governed by regional system operators.  This spring, Nebraska Public Power District, Omaha Public Power District and Lincoln Electric System will join a new regional transmission authority, Southwest Power Pool.
